So I lived at Greenbrier for most of my time at BYU-Idaho and it is kind of down about a block from the snow building and our entire parking lot was shaded during the winter and this means that there's a lot of ice in that parking lot in the winter and my apartment was the one right on the corner of the kind of u-shape that Greenbrier makes and so because the parking lot was shaded there was people slipping and falling on the ice all the time in that parking lot in the winter and we would just sit in our apartment and just watch people fall on the ice and it was kind of funny so I mean there's a lot of people that fall in the ice but there was exponentially more people that would fall in our parking lot because like I said it was shaded for the entire winter so people were slipping and falling all the time and then we also had to help people get their cars unstuck from the ice in the winter all the time so there's going to be a lot of ice in the winter and be prepared for that but also be prepared that you might see some people falling and it's pretty funny

I went to BYU-Idaho in 2018 as a freshman and one of my roommates and I, we came out of like a Christmas party, like doing karaoke. There was a guy with a dog there, and so we talked to him. We found out his name was Kale, and we just thought it was the funniest thing that his name was Kale. Maybe it's not a very funny story to you guys, but his name is like lettuce, like kale. I know it can be spelled C-H-A-O-L, but he literally spelled his name K-A-L-E, like like the lettuce, like the plant, the leafy green. His name was a leafy green, and so we pet Kale's dog, who had a very human name, which was funny to us. We thought it was really funny. So you'll meet people with amazingly weird names, especially because it's such a populated church school. You'll find lots of Book of Mormon people names there too.

It was my first semester and I had a class in the Austin building, which is a really awkwardly laid out building, which is ironic because I think there's a lot of engineering and architecture classes there. Anywho, and normally I'd go check my classes out before, but I didn't on this one for some dumb reason, and I was running late, so I was literally running to class because I'm a freshman and that's what freshmen do, it's adorable. And I couldn't find this place, I'm running all over the place, and I come around the corner and I go in another door of the building and I'm running through, and a security guy starts yelling, hey, stop, what are you doing? I was like, I'm late to class. He says, this is a classroom building, this is the power plant. And, uh, I felt really, really silly and I was a little intimidated because it looked like he had all the, like, fancy gear on.

So once upon a time, I was running across campus, because that's how I made my schedule, and I see this super long line of students at this truck that has a potato, giant potato, on the back of it, and they are handing out free potatoes out of the back of this truck. And I want one so bad, because that is the funniest, most Idaho thing I've ever seen or heard of, and so I, after class, I hurry back to see if it's still there, and it is not, and I'm dejectedly walking home and saying a little prayer that God might someday put that truck in my path again during my time here, because it's so funny, and as I'm walking home, I go through this crosswalk, and there is a potato on the ground. So I grab that potato, and I run home, and I told my roommates this story, and they are so happy for me having this potato, and then my roommate's like, there's a number on that potato, and I'm like, what do you mean? Like, the holes look like they make a number, and they're like, no, someone put their phone number, and so my roommates called them up and went on a date with four guys.

Okay, funny story. So I went on this first date with this one girl and it went pretty well. I forget exactly what we did, but the second date we, she was like, I was, I was thinking things were going really well. Then right before the second date, she asked, she messaged me. She was like, Hey, you know, would you care if I shaved my head? And, you know, I thought this is one of the things that, you know, girls usually, you know, it's a good test, you know, to see if they would be, if you'd be interested in them. So I was like, Oh yeah, sure. Yeah. You know, it'd be fine. And she was like, okay, cool. And then she literally shaved her head before her second date. She said, she's been thinking about it for a while. And yeah, it was so funny.

My brother and I actually went to BYUI together for one year. We overlapped. His last year was my first year. And one day he just really wanted a green apple. That's like all he wanted. He was having a rough day and he was like, you know what, this sounds really good. So he went to the MC and bought just a green apple and he was walking out into like, you know, from like where you get the food to like all the seating and he dropped his apple while he was walking and then in turn kicked it like the apple went across the entire length of everyone and he just turned around and went home instead of getting what he wanted.

We wanted to meet new girls particularly and as nerdy freshmen and shy freshmen we didn't know you know how to meet girls so my roommate there was a we found a fishing pole left over that someone had left in the closet so we took a fishing pole and a batman doll and we flung it over the rail and when girls walked by like this little we would pull it up and this little batman doll would fly in front of their face some girls found it very uh juvenile and did not appreciate it but one group of girls in particular found it very funny we invited them up to our apartment and we played uno or some you know classic game and we all became really good friends and that whole year we had this like built-in very tight group of girls and it was like we met our type of people it was great
