As a student with dyslexia, I have accommodations for disability, learning disability, and my number one tip is to just go to the accessibility center, talk to somebody, they will tell you what you need to know, and they will help you get all the accessibility you need at BYU.

This might seem like kind of an obvious tip, but I think if you have a disability it is so beneficial to go through the University Accessibility Center. The Accessibility Center handles disabilities, physical disabilities, learning disabilities, whatever kind of disability you have, definitely go through them and see if they can give you any accommodations for it. I have ADHD, just like a lot of students there, and they do testing for ADHD, they provide accommodations and things like that. For example, I had extra time on my tests or I had copies of the lecture slides. I know they make available rooms specifically that are like quiet and set apart so that they can be an easier testing environment for students with ADHD and other learning disabilities. So no matter what disability you have, I would say definitely go through the Accessibility Center. They definitely want to help you out.

So if you're a student with a disability of any kind, whether it be like a learning disability, like reading or physical, very first thing you need to do is you need to get a letter of, oh, what are they called? Letter of accommodation. There you go, an accommodation letter. This is just to make sure that BYU is helping you in like your circumstance. So if you have like severe like ADHD or dyslexia, you can usually get like some extra time on your test, things like that, just to kind of help you be your best self. So if you have any disability, don't try to like hide it or whatever, just like go to like BYU Accommodation School, which I believe is in the Wilk, like they'll help you out, they'll get you a letter and your professors are usually super chill about it, so.
