There's always a museum, there's tons of activities that BYU sponsors that are free. They have practice pianos at the HVAC. My favorite thing to do, just when I was kind of down and alone, was to play my guitar. And I would sit near a bush where it was kind of shady on the grass and just play. And so find what ticks for you. There's always things to do there, though. And so many people to do them with. So if you're really bored or lonely, go out and make a friend. Go brighten somebody else's life.

Honestly, for things to do, there's just a million things to do at BYU at all times, certainly just like sports games. If you get the Rock Pass, it's so worth it because you can go to basketball, volleyball, softball, rugby, like football, like everything, and then you could just like always be busy with that.

I think there's a lot of fun things that you can do in and around Provo. One of, I think, the funnest things to do is just to go up the canyon, whether it's hike or have a campfire or hammock, things like that can be super fun.

There are so many things to do at BWU. There's clubs and they have almost every club you can think of and if they don't have it you can easily just go make a club. There's so many sporting events and and so many other extracurricular activities like dancing or singing and there's so many clubs and service opportunities and so there's just so many things to do and just put yourself out there and to get all these new experiences.

So I want to say it's Friday nights, but if you go down to Seven Peaks, you can do, it's like field hockey on ice. You're in your tennis shoes and you have pretty much what looks like a broom with a really small handle made of rubber. And you have a hockey puck and you are running around on ice in your shoes trying to score a goal. And it's kind of like open court, so you are with like 40 people that you don't know, but it is very, very entertaining. So I would say get a good group of friends and go do that. And yeah, it's like seven bucks on Friday nights at Seven, at the, I want to say it's Seven Peaks ice arena.

One of my favorite things to do is just go to the basketball games and football games. They're so much fun. You can buy the rock pass. It was $150 with football games last year with coronavirus. It's unknown. Another fun thing to do when you're down here at BYU is to go down to Mona Lake. It's about 40 minutes just south of here. It's a lake and it's got a nice rope swing. You're able to jump in the water. It's super fun. Really, really fun thing to do is go over to super fun water park. It's got tons of big slides, a lot of tubing as well. It's got a wave pool. It's got everything you want. One of my other favorite things to do is go rollerblading the disco skating nights over at classic fun center. It's over in Orem on state streets and it's super fun. You can go and hang out with your friends.

There's a clubs night every Tuesday, and you can go and there's like so many different clubs you can do. Like I've heard there's like a baking club, ping pong club, like literally probably anything you can think of. So that'd be a great way to meet friends and like try out new hobbies, or if you have a hobby that you're interested or that you do at home and you want to do up here, there's tons of clubs for it. So yeah.

One of my favorite things to do in Provo is to go to Tiponogos Park. It's like a bike park. Me and my friends go there to go mountain biking all the time and it's super fun.

If you're ever bored on campus, and you're with your roommates, and you're just wanting to find something to do, the BYU Creamery sells buckets, large buckets full of ice cream.

Honestly, you don't have to think of like something like crazy different to do every single day, like sometimes it's fun to go and do something different, but also if you like when you find your people, which you will find your people, there's all types of people here, you will find your people that you vibe with and like just hanging out and talking, you can like go like get a drink somewhere and get a treat or something, you could all make something together, could have someone like bring a puzzle, like it doesn't have to be crazy, you don't have to be like going to a huge rager every day like or every night, like you can just do stuff to like calm down and relax with people also and by yourself, like there's no wrong way to do it.

Another thing I'd love to do here at BYU is go to as many sporting events as possible. I definitely recommend getting a rock pass because then you can go to all of them for free. I mean, not for free because you paid for it at the beginning, but you get your money's worth. And the sporting events here are so, so fun. There's so many fun BYU traditions that you do at each one. And it's also a great time to be with friends and show your BYU pride.

Stewart Falls, it's a hike that's up Provo Canyon, past Sundance, and it's pretty famous in the summer, and I've hiked it in the summer before, but in the winter it freezes over and it's so beautiful. So me and my husband, we just got spikes on our tennis shoes, we hiked the trails, pretty paved, well at least for the snow cover to have right now, and brought some hot chocolate in our little thermos, and we drink it by the waterfall that was frozen, and it literally looked like Elsa's castle, it was so cool.

A really fun thing to do in the Utah County area is the Nickel Cades. It's really cheap to get in and they have so many fun older style arcade games. There's laser tag there as well and pizza and stuff. It's really cheap because everything as you guess is run by nickels so they're really fun to do.

Okay, this is one of my favorite things to do, but if you get a parking ticket or like some negligence parking thing, take your parking ticket over to Penguin Bros, because then you get like a free pizookie, like cookie ice cream thing for a parking ticket. And like, you know, if you're having a bad day with the parking ticket, it won't make you feel better. So that's like something to do if you have like just a bad day with parking.

One of my favorite things to do here on campus is to go to the International Cinema. I think they really I think they show really good movies there and yeah I really recommend it. It also makes a really good date night if you guys like watching movies as a date. I do personally and they have different genres, different movies every week and yeah I really recommend it. It's really fun.

I'm not a hiker, my asthma flares and I'm like trying to breathe, but definitely at least once, just once, just to say you did it, hike the Y. It's a beautiful view. If you can get there for sunset, you know, bring some snacks, bring some, you know, drinks or whatever, have a lovely time. It is a rough hike. If you're not used to hiking or the altitude, do it to chuck it off your bucket list to say I did that. And, you know, because then people are like, oh my gosh, do you have like hike the Y, you know, BYU tradition would be like, yeah, I did. It sucked, but I did that.

A fun thing to do when you're down here at BYU is go up to Tempview Park at Provo Canyon, take your bike and you can mountain bike. There's lots of fun trails up there.

You got to start somewhere. There's a ton of opportunities to meet new people, do new things. So just start with the clubs night. Go to different clubs on Tuesday night and meet some new friends. Find some people that share your similar interests and that help you grow your friend zone as well. So go to the club night, try something you've never done before. Like my dad, it helped him decide his major.

So, say you get, like, Rock Pass tickets or, like, football game tickets and you're, like, in a later boarding group. Well, if you want to get to the very front of your board, like, Rock Pass group, all you have to do is just show up, like, you know, 20 minutes before the gate opens up, find, like, a small group of people, kind of the socially awkward-looking ones, and you just slip them a bribe, like, usually for about, like, 20 bucks per person or so. You can get your entire group in the front, then you don't have to wait there all overnight. So that's, like, pro tip. Like, work smarter, not harder. So, you know.

One of my favorite things I've done down here at BYU is go over to Provo Beach. They have a surfing area and you get to surf for like an hour. It's super fun. It's a good Friday night activity.

Provo has the coolest parks. I love the parks here. I think there's so many of them. They're so big, big trees. They're good. Anyways, this one kind of requires some extra stuff to do this, but my friends, they got a bocce ball set, but they're glow-in-the-dark, so we went to this park pitch black at night, like 10 p.m., and we played bocce ball with these glow-in-the-dark ones. It was so fun. Just ran around this park trying to win the game or whatever, but yeah, it was super good.

If you're looking for something to do around campus, I suggest going to the YSERV office. They have a lot of different service opportunities there, like there's some that you can just do right away and like you can do like for like five minutes, for example, but they also have like things that you can, they have to sign up for, you know, that take a bit longer. I know on, I believe on Thursdays, there are, there's a group that makes blankets out of paper, plastic bags, I mean, so yeah, but yeah, if you are looking for something, I recommend going there.

Also, I would definitely look for clubs. There's just so many cool clubs to do at BYU, whether it's like more leadership things. I was part of the International Relations Club, which was so fun. There's just like so many events and so many cool things to do that like just go with exactly what you like and there's people who like to do it.

When you're hiking the Y, once you get up to the base of the Y, there's these cool binoculars that you can look out on the valley. It's really fun. You got this map as well. It has all the points of interest, right? You got the BYU Observatory, Provo City Temple, Utah Lake, Bayview Campus. It's really interesting. It makes for a great view.

One of the best ways to see the sunset is at the Y parking lot at the trailhead for hiking the Y.

For me, one of the best things to do at BYU, I got a rock pass this year as BYU enters the Big 12 and I've gone to as many sporting events as I can. I've gone to all the home football games and I've gone to every volleyball and soccer game that I can so far. If you always need something to do, there's a game, there's at least one home game a week in one of those three sports, so going to that is fun. There's a lot of great people there who love sports as well and you can easily create some great conversation there. It's also a fun day idea too if that's something that interests you.

There's also a lot of fun things that you can do off campus, like one of my favorite things since you're so close to the mountains is like going to the mountains and camping with people, having like a bonfire or something like that, hiking, snowshoeing in the winter. A lot of people, I'm not personally a skier, but a lot of people love to ski and so they'll do that in the winter. So just like getting outside, especially when you are like really stressed out or have a lot of stuff going on with your classes, like obviously like do your homework and stuff and like try and manage your time well, but like it's also important to remember like to go outside and to have fun.

I had a boss at BYU when I was working in the audiovisual department say, if I ever hear anybody ever say, I don't know what to do, then you're not looking around. There's always things to do. Go to the music building and look up what plays or programs are going on. There's always athletic events. There's several other things in different colleges happening, whether it's readings or poetry nights or other things. So don't ever say there's nothing to do because there is always things to do on campus. You just have to look around and find them and it's not that hard.
