How I met my wife - Brigham Young University Video Transcripts

I met my wife while we were trying to set up our two roommates. So in the process of us like kind of texting and stuff behind the scenes to make sure that, hey, we're gonna hang out, you guys should like be there trying to like get those two together. In that process, I started talking to my now wife more and more and kind of being like, wow, like working and kind of talking with this girl and joking and laughing about stuff is like pretty fun. And so as they started to get together, my wife and I started to get together. And the relationship that we put together two great people, they ended up not working out and my wife and I got married. So our matchmaking and behind the scenes conniving is actually kind of what got us together.

I met my wife in church, actually. So there's another reason for you to go to church. But no, I met my wife at church. She was actually talking to my brother, and my brother introduced me to her. But we only said, it was only like a hi, what's your name kind of thing. But I later got to meet her and got to know her better when we actually ran into each other at a women's basketball game. So you should also go to women's basketball games if you're looking for a potential wife. But yeah, I ran into her there. She invited me to help bake some treats later that night and the rest is history. So yeah.

So I met my wife freshman year at BYU, 1997. Our first date was Valentine's Day. We did like a dinner dress-up thing, but I have now learned from three of my daughters that asking a girl out on Valentine's Day for the first time is not cool. Anyways, it worked out and we've been married 25 years this year.
