I'm an FHE leader, so I'm always looking for more FHE activities, but one of my favorites that we've done is a cupcake wars activity. So it's when we like split into groups and we have like a theme and then at the end we voted on whose was the best cupcake and then if you want to even add like a service element to that you can go deliver them to your ministering assignments after that. So that was one of my favorites.

Making a scavenger hunt in the Moa, the Museum of Art, was a super fun FHE. We went around and we had one person in our FHE group go and just pick like 15 or 20 different pieces of art in the Moa and write a description on them. For example, one of them, there was a there was like the McDonald's like golden arch thing made out of ceramic and it was kind of painted like with the with this Chinese florally pattern. And so like our clue to find it was Chinese golden arches. Talking about, you know, this McDonald's sign that had been painted. And so that was a super fun FHE activity where we just split into teams and tried to see who could find all of these objects in the Moa first. Just based on these super random clues that we had been given. And it took us like an hour and it was super fun. Everyone was running around trying to trying to decipher all these things.

FHT activity that I've really enjoyed is chair soccer. I've done it a few times and it's a lot of fun, something that everybody can join into. All you gotta do is just, all you need is a soccer ball and some chairs. The goal is to kick the soccer ball into the chair of someone else and if you do then that person is out. It's a ton of fun, it's a great group activity.

A couple cool FHE ideas would be like a nacho table. It's where you put like tinfoil out on the counter and just put all the nacho toppings on there and then everyone can come and eat the nachos as they come and go or as another activity is going on like a game or a movie. I think that one time we did like self-portraits which was like hilarious. There's a trend going around on Instagram Reels as well where you do like a portrait of someone else and then you show it to them and so me and my friends kind of did that at the FHE activity and it was hilarious. We ended up having the portraits in our rooms all year round and every time we saw them we would just laugh so that was a fun activity. Also, I love when the water stake will like rent out Peaks Ice Arena and you can just go ice skating. That's also super fun. I think that those get a lot of people there as well so yeah that's what I would say.

This was like Ward FHE, like we did this all as a ward, but it was still an FHE night. Anyways, we did like a ward talent show. In my ward, we were super tight, so we went ham for this. I was with a bunch of my friends and we learned step-for-step the Teen Beach Movie Dance like it is in the movie and we performed it, like went so ham for this. Anyways, it was really fun because everyone was super into it and we like went in that movie theater rooms by Jamba Juice. It was good.

We recently did an FHE activity where we all made powerpoints and presented them, and it was really fun. You just make like, I don't know, 10 to 15 slides of kind of random things that kind of go together, and then you have somebody else present that powerpoint, and it ends up being really funny, so I would recommend.

This FHE idea I think probably needs a little bit more of a budget, but it's basically just you split your group into teams and then you have like a few ingredients and you can do like ingredients for like an appetizer and a dessert or like a main meal or whatever, but everybody gets the same ingredients you can do. If you're doing a dessert you could do like marshmallows, chocolate chips, peanut butter, and bananas or something like that, and then each team has like 15-20 minutes to create a dessert with those ingredients that you've given them and then at the end everybody gets to like try a little bit and judge them and you can make it like a little contest if you want, but we did that in one of my FHE groups and it was so fun.

A fun FHE activity that I did in the past was karaoke night. It was a blast. People, you know, it's like karaoke is supposed to be chill and it's supposed to be fun. Just, you know, it doesn't have to be serious. You don't have to try your best. As long as you're having a great time, it's really fun. And I did that in my freshman year of college and it was super fun. I recommend it. But don't go too late at night. Don't do it too late at night because you might get a noise complaint. But yeah, it is really fun. I loved it. It's, yeah, I really recommend it.

One activity my group did, this is when you have to do it when the weather is a little bit nicer, not in the middle of winter, but we did a campfire up the canyon and roasted s'mores and it was super fun. We got to all be out in nature and like tell fun stories around the campfire.

I'm actually FHE group leader, so one thing I've done is walk to Swig, it's super close to Healman, and then you can use the church funds to pay for everyone in your group, if your bishop approves it. But that's just a super fun and easy thing, and everyone loves Swig, so.

One of my favorite FHE activities we did that's also a good idea is in the summertime, like not the summertime but beginning of fall semester, we went up to the canyon and did a campfire and it was super fun and we also have, we did like pumpkin carving competitions or game nights and those are really fun just a lot of things like even stuff to get people out of the house like go to a leaders house and it's super fun and a lot of people like to go.

One FSU idea that I have is to do hide-and-seek either in the Wilkinson Center or in the library. Those are really fun especially in the library because if you're playing hide-and-seek then you know it's really big and it's like it's kind of like a maze in there so yeah those are some good fun activities.

One of my favorite family home evening activities was a deep-fry everything party. You make up two batches of batter, a savory batch and a sweet batch, and then people bring whatever they want to deep-fry. We did Oreos and peanut butter and jelly sandwiches. We tried little balls of cookie dough, figured out how to deep-fry ice cream, all sorts of things that you can throw into a deep fryer. Just make up the two bowls of batter, a big pot of oil, and people bring what they want.
