Ultimate Frisbee golf, so you'd get golf clubs from DI and some tennis balls, and you'd basically play golf across the campus, but with the tennis balls. Gotta be a little careful, people can get mad at you, but most of the time people don't care. So, it's fun.

A really cool date idea is that you can rent a sunset sailboat ride on Utah Lake. I think it's about a hundred dollars and you can bring whatever treats and blankets you want and so super romantic date idea. Go on a horse-drawn sleigh ride in Heber. It's about a hundred dollars and it's 35 minutes away from Provo.

A super fun date idea to do when you're going to BYU is go over to Provo Beach. It's in Provo, it's right next to Provo Canyon, and there's mini golf, there's a ropes course, there's Flowrider, and there's also bowling. It's super fun and it can be cheap. You can pay for everything and then it gets more expensive, but I know mini golf is pretty cheap. A really easy date at BYU is to go bowling at the student center. It's super cheap, you just go and you can get a lane, you can bowl for an hour.

Some fun dates that I have been on around Provo are the Soap Factory where you make your own soap, the Wick Lab where you make your own candles. Another really fun place right off the campus is called The Wash. They have fun drinks and fries and desserts that are just really fun so you can go and hang out with your friends there.

So one fun date idea that I remember from when I was at BYU was when we went as a big group and did a scavenger hunt all over campus and You can do a selfie scavenger hunt or you can do a sound scavenger hunt where you have to collect different sounds from different places on campus Or like the selfie one you have to take selfies with different statues or different places different things that are on campus So that was just one of the fun dates that I had when I was there

My first date with my now husband was at Velour, which is a music venue in downtown Provo, and I highly recommend going there. It's really cool, super chill environment. The owner, Cory, is really, really nice. We had our wedding reception there, so it all came full circle.

A super fun date idea is to go up to Sundance and ride the ski lift across and it's super cute and super fun. It's so fun at night.
Video 8 Transcript
You can just go on a hike, you can go ice skating, you can go skiing, that's a little bit more expensive, but a lot of people have passes, just going skiing can be super fun. In the winter when it's a little colder, a lot of indoor stuff you can do. People love going out to eat, just go get something to eat and don't make it too long. Ice cream is a big thing here. For group dates you can do things like game nights, an iron chef, it doesn't have to be crazy. I know there's a lot of hot tubbing that goes on around in Provo, so it just kind of depends on the season and whether you want to do a group or individual date. Main Street in Provo has a lot of things on it as well, so those are just some things that you can start looking at for some ideas.
Video 9 Transcript
Go to the BYU Museum of Art and you and your date pick a sculpture or a painting that you both like. Go grab some sidewalk chalk, head over to the sidewalk, and then you and your date have to draw or recreate the painting or sculpture that you both like from memory on the sidewalk with the chalk. Kind of fun and creative.

One of my favorite date ideas that I had been on was when we just made pizza together. It was with, not maybe for a first date, I think it was with my boyfriend, now husband, so it definitely worked. But getting to make pizza together is really fun because it doesn't have to be expensive and even bad pizza is still pizza. So there's not a whole lot of risk involved. You can learn how to cook, start working with yeast and if it comes out great, it's delicious. If it comes out less than great, it's still going to be pizza. It's still going to be delicious.

One of my favorite date ideas here at BYU is to actually go classic skating. Nothing beats going classic skating. If you like the girl, you'll hold her hand. But other than that, I really love to go country swing dancing. It's every Wednesday night and also Saturday night. Other than that, the Saratoga Springs Hot Pots or Fifth Water Springs Hot Pots, those are really fun. It's cheap. Actually, it's free. You just gotta hike there a little bit, but yeah, I love this so much.

Dating gets expensive like really quickly, so something you can do for free is Divine Comedy before every single one of their shows will have some sort of preview where you can kind of like sign up to be an invited audience and then you don't have to pay money for the show and then they have you come in and they'll ask your opinion about the different sketches so you still get to see all the material but for free. So go ahead and see if you can find that.

One of my favorite date spots on, like just around Provo, around BYU is the duck pond. It was the first date that I went on with my wife. We just got a loaf of bread from Walmart and went and fed the ducks. There's like the flower garden that BYU has just kind of right next to it so you can walk around, you can feed the ducks, just a really good spot close to campus, super easy and it's free. Another great date idea is to find somebody with a rock pass and then just go to any sporting event. Pretty much every week there's something going on. There's a basketball game, volleyball game, soccer game, football game, gymnastics, literally anything for men and women's sports. So find someone that has a rock pass and just ask them to go with you to a sporting event.
Video 14 Transcript
Definitely suggest checking out the BYU Creamery for some super good and super cheap ice cream.
Video 15 Transcript
One really fun date idea at BYU, especially if it's cold outside, is to go and stand on the heaters outside. That way you're not bugged, but you're still warm.
Video 16 Transcript
A very fun and simple date is to go down to the grocery store, get a thing from the salad bar, whatever you want, and then go up into the mountains to sit on a rock and eat and just kind of enjoy the view.

There are definitely tons of cute places to go on dates in Provo and in the area around it. Like I've been to Soap Factory, I've been to lots of cool places on, lots of fancy restaurants on Center Street, but you don't have to spend money to have a really fun date. So my other favorite day-to-days are going to the duck pond and feeding the ducks there in the spring. Or you can watch the devotional with someone. We, before COVID, you had to go in person to the marriot and now you have to reschedule, but you can also just like watch it at your apartment and maybe make lunch after. That would be fun. Or make a lunch, have a picnic lunch. Seven Peaks Ice Arena is super cheap. It's only like $8 a person or $6 if you go on college night, which is like Friday nights, 9 to 11, I think. That's really fun. There's tons you can do. Oh, making dinner together and setting a budget so you don't spend too much. That's quite fun.

A really classic but really fun date that they have here in Provo, especially in the wintertime, is going ice skating down at the Provo Rec Center. It's just really a ton of fun. There's a lot of people there, so you actually always end up seeing someone that you know too, which is really cool. And then it's really a big rink, so there's a ton of things that you can do there other than just going ice skating too, and little things on the side. So I think that was one of the best dates I went on in Provo.

Of course, you always have live events. Go see a football game at BYU's home stadium or a show at the Velour. You know what? Actually, a kind of a best-kept secret during the summertime is the Provo Rec Center. It has great water slides, both indoor and outdoor. There's sort of a lazy river that you can go along, as well as a rock-climbing wall with a waterfall on top of it. A lot of fun stuff to do there during the summer. The Christmas lights at the Riverwoods are really fun. They also do kind of a chalk the block that's really nice. I don't remember what time of year it is, but they do it every year. What else we got? Go for a walk on the Bonneville Shoreline Trail. Get lost at McCord's Corn Maze. During the fall, there's lots of corn mazes that open up. I don't know if McCord's is the best, but there's a lot of good ones. I can't remember what they're all called, but one of them, you can fire like apples really, really far. They have a hayride.

So many, like, confusing buildings on BYU campus that are also, like, fun to explore. So, if you ever want to go explore a building together, that could be fun.
Video 21 Transcript
There's the MOA, the Museum of Art. I think they change around their exhibits every now and then, not sure how often, but that's a pretty fun one to just walk around and look at that stuff. There's also a lot of shows you can go to like BYU Singers, Men's Chorus, Men's Chorus, Young Ambassadors, the dance shows, all that. There's usually something that's being performed. There's also a lot of restaurants in Provo, like a lot. One of the funnest places is called Penguin Brothers, and it's this like build-your-own-ice-cream-sandwich-with-cookies-and-whatever-ice-cream-you-want, which is pretty good, and there's just like a lot of others that I can't really name them all. There's also hikes. You can go hike the Y, and there's a lot that goes on. There's like clubs, there's country dancing on Center Street on Wednesdays and Saturdays at a time. 8 30? Yeah, check it out.

A good place to go on a date is the Bee Museum, and if you look at their website they've got scavenger hunt ideas, so you can go on a double date and race the other couple and see who can get there first.

There are a million, a million dating ideas and none of them cost any money and the first place to start is check the activities that BYU hosts. Those are always fun. And then of course going to a devotional, catching lunch at the Cougar Eat. There are a million things you can do that are either very cheap or free. Studying together, that seems boring but it's actually pretty great. You just go, you meet, you study for 15-20 minutes, make your little rules of you study for 20 minutes and you get up and walk around and talk for a minute. And then go back and study for another half hour, whatever it is. But make studying a date, make it fun, think outside the box. There's always exhibits at the museum, just even walking the campus is absolutely gorgeous.

One of the worst dates I had at BYU was this girl I was set up with, a friend of my aunt, and we ended up going to a dance at BYU. I was pretty recently home from my mission and was running into a whole bunch of friends that I hadn't seen in over a year, so it was kind of a little reunion of sorts of this dance and just was kind of an impromptu type thing. I started introducing my date to these friends of mine, and evidently, she didn't like me not giving her 100% attention, and so I turned my back for a minute, and she was gone. And she ended up walking home. I have never been stood up on a date ever in my life. I didn't know what to do. I didn't have a cell phone. I wasn't sure if I call 911, if I should call her. She walked away from me.

BYU has a few museums. You can go to the Museum of Art. I've done that. It was pretty good. You could also go to the Bean Museum. I really like the Bean Museum, obviously, you know, in camo. I thought that was a lot of fun. I thought it was a good time. So you can do that and I think that's probably pretty good. You could also just walk around campus, play hide and seek or whatever. If it's a group date, you can do that as well.
Video 26 Transcript
Something fun you can do in Provo is you can download the link app and find the scooters all around. It's super fun, it costs like a dollar to rent them and then it's like 35 cents a minute. Super fun little date idea, love to see it.
Video 27 Transcript
BYU actually has a bowling alley and a little arcade where they'll do family nights. And also there's a place called The Wall which has great burgers and an open mic night. Another place that has open mic night is Gurus and Peace on Earth Coffee. I think it's Friday nights where they have karaoke night and you don't have to get anything, you can just go and sing. What else we got here? Oh yeah, Improv Broadway, kind of like Comedy Sports, an improv show. Five Sushi Bros, if you need to get something really late at night, I highly recommend Five Sushi Bros. They're open till midnight and they'll deliver or you can go and pick it up from them. Dry Bar Comedy, again, great comedy show that you can go and enjoy. Dragon's Keep, people go and role play, I think.
Video 28 Transcript
One of the best states you can do while you're at BYU is to do the alpine loop drive during the fall when all the leaves are changing colors in the mountains. It's just a fun place to go and who doesn't love nature?
Video 29 Transcript
There are several great ice cream places. There's kind of a toss-up of which is best. You may prefer Sub-Zero ice cream, BYU's Creamery, or Rockwell ice cream. They're all really good. You could go sledding at Rock Canyon Park. You could take a drive up to Squaw Peak, get a great view of the valley, but be warned, there may be some couples up there trying to have some alone time. You could visit the Museum of Mormon Mexican History. I've never been there. I've always seen it though. Go rock climbing at the quarry. Go for a hike at Slate Canyon. Oh, Pioneer Village is kind of interesting. It's a tiny little place in Provo where they preserve buildings and tools and artifacts from pioneer times. It's kind of interesting. You can go fishing, water skiing, boating, camping, picnicking, or ice skating or even ice fishing at Utah Lake, but be warned, Utah Lake can be kind of gross. I'd rather just kind of like walk along the banks maybe.

A really cheap and fun date is there's a country swing place in downtown Provo, and I think it's only like six or eight dollars depending on what time of night you go, and they teach you lessons and it's just really fun to go with either a big group of friends or a date, even if you aren't good at dancing because I'm definitely not.
