I love BYU sports. They are so much fun and I remember my freshman year, our first game, our first home game was against the U and we all know how that rivalry goes. And I remember us going into it knowing that we probably wouldn't win based on our track record, but the game took a crazy turn and we were up by quite a bit and we just kept on scoring touchdowns. Then it started raining and we were just all in the student section going crazy. And then when we won the game, we all stormed the field. And that is like a core memory of mine. I will never forget the year that I was here at BYU and we beat Utah and we stormed the field. And it was the first game of the season. Like how cool is that?

I think another one of my favorite BYU sports stories was from this past football season. We had a great season, go Cougs, but I think it was awesome that we went to Utah and beat them on their own field. I think that just feels so good as a BYU sports fan, but I thought it was like a very entertaining game and I will always remember that one. It's a core memory for sure.

One of my all-time BYU sports memories is I was attending a football game it was like my freshman year I think it was in 2014 and Cosmo was doing some sort of stunt and Cosmo was known for that was kind of when he was getting famous for going bigger and bigger and bigger with his stunts and there's this one where he ran he jumped off a trampoline and did a couple didn't like somersaults and flips in the air and his costume head flew off and everyone in the student section is just freaking out because they could see who it was and so he kind of hid behind one of the the cushions and was able to get the head back on with the help of one of his assistants but I'll definitely remember that it was very unique to my knowledge I don't think it's ever really happened before or since then so

My freshman year we played Baylor and I think they were ranked around the top 10. And we went into triple overtime if I'm remembering right and so we were all getting ready to storm the field like three different times before we actually could.

My favorite sports story was my first football game here at BYU. My freshman year, I believe we played Baylor, the first game, that back in 2022. That was one to remember. I remember I was very shocked that we won. I stormed the field. That was so fun. And yeah, that was a hectic game, which I love. Very close game. And yeah, that was awesome.

I was recently a victim to watching BYU play Alabama in the March Madness, and we were on the wrong side of history, but we'll get them next year probably.

A sports experience that I'll never forget at BYU was during my freshman year when BYU basketball played Gonzaga and it was a huge deal and so people started camping outside of the Marriott Center I think like five days before the game and my friends and I there was a group of about 12 of us we were there first in line we were probably number like 10 in the line and we set up our tent and we camped out there taking turns of course rotating through for the next five days sleeping there everything and then we were in there to for the game and it was so fun we were super close to the front and we did lose but the whole experience was totally worth it.

So I grew up watching BYU football, and the first quarterback I remember watching was John Beck. And my earliest BYU football memory was BYU going to Salt Lake, and with about three seconds left in the game, John Beck dropped back to pass, and he had forever back there. And he rolled out to his right, threw all the way back across the field to Johnny Harleen, who made a sliding catch on his knees. So that's my earliest BYU sports memory. And then this year, I was introducing my wife to BYU football, and it was BYU versus Oklahoma State, where Jake Retzlaff threw to Darius Lasseter, he made a couple guys miss, and BYU walked off with the win.

My BYU sports story comes from the Wayback Machine in 1980, when BYU played at the University of Miami in the first game of the 1990 football season, and we beat them. And it was totally unexpected. I really launched, tied that MERS bid for Heisman Trophy that year, but Miami was ranked number one in the nation preseason, and nobody sat down. The whole entire stadium, I think, the entire game, we were screaming and yelling the entire time, and it was really hilarious. The next day at church, it was like the singing was horrible because everybody's voice was gone. It was hilarious.

One of the most memorable times I've had a sporting event was a BYU football against Kansas State football. It was one of my first football games here at BYU and we won and that's when everybody kind of realized BYU is a legit team and which is very fun and very exciting and the atmosphere was electric so it was a great, great game.

I was there in 2021 when BYU beat Utah and it was the first time that they beat them in a while and we were at home and I was in the rock section and it was absolutely electric. That was the best game I've been to in my life and probably can never be topped I'm gonna be honest like during third quarter when we were like doing that hype up thing it started pouring rain like it was a movie or something it was so cool and then afterwards of course everyone like stormed the field which I never done before but it was nuts it's like thousands of students are like pushing on you to get off and I like jumped off these like giant walls and fell straight on my back on the field but I didn't even care and I went and kissed the center of the turf the wire whatever because it's what you're supposed to I don't even know anyways I was just so happy to be a cougar it was such a fun day a great win.

February 20th, 2025. A day which will live in infamy. In a stunning and decisive defeat that would later become known as the Marriott Center Massacre, the Kansas City Jayhawks failed the BYU Cougars by a margin unparalleled in the Billself era. This humbling loss has prompted deep reflection among players, coaches, and devoted alumni as the team now faces the imperative task of regrouping and reclaiming the standard of excellence, synonymous with Kansas basketball. Though this moment may cast a shadow, history has shown that adversity is but a prelude to resurgence. The Jayhawks will rise again. Psych!

I'm not on a BYU sports team, but I'm an inanimate fan, and this past year, the 2024 football season definitely has been one to remember. This season, we went 11-2 in all of our games, and it was so fun to be in the stadium. There was multiple times when, you know, we're in the last quarter, we're actually in the last minute of the game, and we're down by a field goal, or by six points, or something. And there was at least three or four specific games where we were down, and under a minute, and it, you know, seems like all hope is lost. But then, with a few key passes and a long 50-yard field goal kick, or a Hail Mary that gets into the touchdown, four different times this season, BYU football has been able to pull off a come-from-behind victory in the last minute.
