Two of my favorite foods were called pop and dumpling. And so pop is a ground corn maize that they mix in a pot of boiling water and it comes out kind of like mashed potatoes. And you eat it with a meat, usually beef or chicken or something like that, with gravy and it's just so delicious. It's kind of like rice, but just in one big lump. But it's really good. Don't let my description of it turn you away. It's one that you'll have a lot. My other favorite food, as I said, was dumpling. It's a bread that they boil and then they top it with gravy and mince and all these other delicious foods and it just tastes so good.

When I think of Botswana and when I think of Africa, I think that Botswana is the stereotypical Africa. The trees, the dirt, everything you see looks like Africa. But why I love Botswana wasn't because of the landscape and the amazing scenery. It was for the people. They were truly humble and truly amazing. How they would come together and how they would unite. They were neighborly and kind and loving. And they would do anything for you. You'd meet someone for the first time and they'd share their food with you. They'd share dinner with you. Even if you knew that they didn't have that much or have that money to do so. The people is why I love Botswana.
