Ballet classes are typically accompanied by a live pianist, which is super awesome, because they can kind of change the speed of the song to match the movement and what the teacher needs. But at the end of class, you always applaud and you bow to your teacher, and then it's proper etiquette to go and bow to the pianist and thank them for class as well. So that's just kind of the rule. You always applaud, bow to your teacher, and then go applaud and bow to the pianist.

So this is only a rule in some places, but as you start growing up in ballet, that's when you start pointe. Instead of using flat canvas shoes, you use pointe shoes. Realistically, and for the health of your feet, you shouldn't start pointe before 10, because there's cartilage in your feet that turns to bone over time, and if it hasn't turned to by the time that you're starting pointe, it can get deformed and mess with your feet and how they age. So some people listen to that wholeheartedly. I didn't start pointe until I was 12 because my feet weren't ready for it, but other places start when you're like 7 or 8, and that's a little bit more dangerous. So just consider that when you're thinking about a dance studio and what they're planning on doing, but yeah, that was really good for me, was waiting.
