I started ballet classes when I was a really little girl, so I kind of just got into it as time went on and things, but if I would have started later in my life, the main advice I've given to myself is to do ankle strengthening exercises, because a lot of time if you progress with ballet, you end up doing pointe shoes, that's kind of like the crown jewel of ballet and different things, and I feel like I always had weak ankles or like not strong enough, and so it always caused issues, it was harder to like get all the way over on top of my toes, I faced a lot of like pain because of that. Anyways, if I had stronger ankles just would have been better, so ankle strengthening exercises, whatever those are.

My best advice for getting started with ballet is to just go to a class. A lot of like communities do like a bar class or like gyms they do like a bar class. It's not quite the same as like a full ballet studio would do it but it gives you kind of an idea and a lot of places actually do adult classes like adult beginning ballet classes which are really really fun and they're for like all levels. Some people stay in the same level for like five six years, other people they decide to like move up. One thing I will say is that the older you get the more your muscles aren't like flexible and the harder it is to like train your- you're like already- like your muscles already know what to do and so if you're trying to teach it new movement you have to be more patient because you're not as young trying to learn it and your muscles already have ideas of how to move. So like be patient, be patient with yourself and just like enjoy it, have fun but don't like have any crazy expectation for yourself.
