Hi, my name is Heather B. Moore. My favorite aspect about being a writer is it definitely feeds into my creative side and I love being a writer in this era because I can just edit on the computer. I'm not handwriting and I'm not crossing out lines. I also love the flexibility of my career is when I have really busy family things to deal with, I can deal with those and I can write in between the spaces and also I love to read so it's kind of a perfect match for me as a lot of my really good friends now are also writers and so that just makes me just happy that I can be in a career where I also love the people I interact with.

One of the things I love most about writing is I have a voice. I always thought, you know, if, if I could ever reach people, I'd have this ability to just, you know, kind of change the world, right? What you do as an author, you get to just teach these amazing stories and, and, and tell these, tell these growth arcs on characters and just have this opportunity to help change the lives of people for the better. And that's one of my favorite things. And also being able to go out and speak to schools and speak to students and do public speaking and actually kind of share my life stories too, and just continue to inspire people. I think that is one of the greatest gifts of being an author is you have the ability to inspire. And it's something that I just absolutely love.

I love stories. So I would have guessed that my favorite part of being a children's book author is getting to tell stories with kids, but honest to goodness, my very, very favorite part is getting to go to their schools and getting to talk to kids face-to-face and getting to go to signings and having them get to talk to them one-on-one. Kids are my favorite part of my job.

One of my favorite aspects about writing books is just the readers, hearing from readers. It's awesome. We write, we write for kids. I write some by myself and some with my wife, but for example, writing these and hearing from kids, they're making their own inventions, right? Coming up with great things. It's one of my favorites, right? We wrote this contemporary one and kids with cancer write to us or kids that are facing disease or like Maddie makes up a game in here. We had a class that tried the game and they all played it together and it was, it was super fun for us. Kids that love comics and have drawn their own comics and sent it to us or kids that go through tough stuff, like losing somebody they love and how they went through it and how this book was helpful to them and how they love animals, right? It's great. And I love just the idea of my crazy story, somebody else getting to be able to experience that. And I love it when they write and say, I don't normally like to read, but I love this one. And it's just a hope and they keep reading. Love it.

Hi, I'm Tracy D. Smith. I'm an author. My favorite aspect about it is being able to just be creative. I write historical fiction and I love diving into histories. I love learning about different people and different cultures and places and how it affects other aspects of our lives. So I really like learning about the people and being able to express possibly how they would have felt or their stories and kind of put myself in their place. So that's like my favorite part about it.

My favorite aspect of being an author is probably how I can create a universe that is entirely my own, that have characters that live entirely inside my head, and make them pay rent. No, seriously. But it is a lot of fun to get paid to be creative. And there are other forms of that, obviously. Artists do the same thing. And when you boil it all down to it, all of us, artists, authors, sculptors, what we're doing is we are content creators. We create content that other people are willing to pay money for. And being a content creator is awesome. And you literally get paid for your imagination. So if you have a very active imagination, and you like to be as creative as possible, then it's probably a pretty solid career choice for you.
