Armenia is home of the oldest shoe discovered in the world, the oldest church in the world called Egymatsin, and the longest cable car in the world. Mount Ararat is also the national symbol of Armenia and it lies on the Turkish-Armenian border. So it's technically in Turkey but there's a lot of places in Armenia you can see it very well. What's significant about that mountain is it is the mountain that Noah's Ark landed on following the flood is where it came to rest according to the Bible and according to many scientific studies. The capital of Armenia, Yerevan, is also a very old city, 2,800 years old and about 30 years older than Rome. Armenia is also the first country in the world to establish Christianity as its official religion. That was in the year 301, so in other words you could say Armenia is the first Christian nation.
