If you don't love soda, you're going to have a problem because these people are in love with soda. Coke, and they've got this other kind of soda called Manaus that you'll find, but you don't drink the water down there, especially from taps. So I would recommend if you don't like drinking soda and you don't want to drink soda every meal for two years, take a filter water bottle for water and use that. I used mine every single day because I don't really like soda and it was helpful. Another thing is don't ever refuse food from people because Argentine culture is like, if they're giving you something, they want you to accept it. And so sometimes like new, especially Americans will get there, people offer them food and they'll reject it and people get kind of offended. So make sure you never do that.

Argentina is a big soccer country. If there is a big soccer game, be aware that after the game there will be a lot of crazy people, whether they're on their motorcycles, or playing with fireworks, or just shooting their guns. Make sure you're inside and away from the danger. If you're walking on the dirt streets of Argentina, or anywhere, and they ask you for the time, do not pull out your phone to look at the time, or don't look at your watch to look at the time, because if you're in a sketchy area, they're most likely going to rob you. So just make up a time, or keep the time in mind, so you don't have to pull out any of your valuables. I've come across a lot of people that are great and awesome in the streets, but just be mindful and careful of people in kind of dangerous areas, or just darker areas too.

Just don't be stupid with, like, drawing attention to yourself unnecessarily, the placement of your money. I did get, like, mugged a few times and, like, they weren't able to find the money that I was carrying, if any, and usually you don't, you just carry enough money to get around on the, basically, the taxis or the remises or wherever.

Don't take anything that you're not afraid to lose. Don't wear flashy clothes. Don't do anything that'll call attention to yourself. I know you're gonna want to take like lots of clothes to cover up because it's gonna be cold. Don't take anything flashy. I can't stress that enough because people down there are very poor and if they see something that looks nice they will want it. I just took a giant big coat that was black and didn't call any attention and I had like a junky backpack I got from Walmart for five bucks. Don't take your camera around with you but other than that you will be good. People respect you pretty well down there.

There are dogs everywhere. Literally stray dogs on the street everywhere. I've always been super scared of dogs, so that was kind of a shock to me, but I would advise buying a little dog button. If you are scared, just go to Walmart. Those little buttons that make it sound like dogs go away. That thing saved my life because there will be dogs on every corner. A lot of times they fight each other, and so you also get dogs that will follow you everywhere, and then those want to fight the dog that are following you. So yeah, that's fun. I would just advise if you're scared of dogs or anything, take one of those dog buttons because it will be a lifesaver.

Don't bring anything that you would hate to lose. When I got down there I sent a couple of my watches home and stuff because if you're in the city there's a couple a little bit more sketchy neighborhoods and I was robbed a couple times. Not trying to scare you, just don't bring anything super valuable.
