Safety advice - Argentina Video Transcripts

They have, we call them motochorros. It's basically like robbers on a motorcycle. They'll ride up next to you, point a gun at you, and say hey, give me all of your stuff. Then you just hand them a backpack and walk away. I would just say be careful about where you're at as long as you're not, as long as you're in a public area, you're not gonna have too many problems. Also keep just a little bit of cash on you like five to ten pesos so that you can hand somebody something if they really want something bad from you.

There are dogs everywhere and it's just a part of life there, but you get used to them and you learn pretty quickly that most of them won't do anything, but if you're worried just bend down and pick up a rock if there is one or even just pretend like you're picking up a rock and they'll run away.

Buenos Aires does have a lot of robberies. The biggest advice, I think, is to just be smart and know where you should and shouldn't be during the seven, eight o'clock hours of the night. Some neighborhoods are just not very safe those times of night, that time of the day, so just be aware of that. And whenever you are confronted, to just comply with the person and not try to make a scene, just give them what they ask for. Don't try to defend yourself. Just be, you can always replace things you have.
