One of my most recent anxiety attack stories actually happened when I was at work one day. I work in McDonald's at a very quick pace. I was dealing with some stressful situations a couple days before my shift. At first, I was working perfectly fine, but then I started feeling this tightness in my chest. I felt as if I couldn't breathe. I started hyperventilating and thankfully, one of my co-workers happened to look over and she seen that something wasn't right, asked if I was okay, saw the fact that I was hyperventilating, I couldn't breathe. She brought me into the manager's office, sat me down because she thought I was about to fall. They talked through, got me water, did all they could to help me.

Hey guys, so I'm not going to give a super in-depth account of this anxiety attack, but I do want to talk about how I ended up dealing with it. So basically, I was overseas studying a language amongst a lot of my peers, and they knew that I was supposed to be one of the better ones, and so there was an instant where that was being challenged, and therefore my identity, it felt like, was being challenged a bit. And so I actually had, for the first time ever, even though I've had anxiety for a while, I had a straight-up shutdown. And it sounds super simple, but it's true that breathing actually helps. I know it sounds too, just, again, it sounds too simple, but it actually does. Take a few breaths. If you can, try to get to a remove yourself. If not, just quietly breathe in through your nose real deep, and that will go a long way. I promise you, it'll help.
