One time when I was living in one of the nicer apartments, I learned that our apartment complex was owned by the Albanian Mafia. And what was so funny to me is they're all super nice and it's because we always paid our rent so they had no reason to be mad at us, but they were always super nice older guys who always were ready to chat and make sure everything was okay in our apartments.
Every Albanian, for some reason, thinks the word that the word apple is pronounced April. And so one time, my companion and I were in the city of Fjer and we went to go get some crepes for for our meal. And in the crepe shop on the menu, it says apple crepe, you know, in English, apple crepe. And so my companion says, like, I'm going to Maroon the apple crepe. Like, can I get an apple crepe? And the guy who's serving the crepes, he just looks at him really confused. He's like, you mean April, right? And my companion is like, no apple, like the word is apple. And so all these Albanians are trying to, you know, he's trying to convince them that the word is April. But for some reason, they all think that it's April, not apple.
