Take it or leave it, this is just advice from me. Balance your life, balance it. Yes, be an actor. Yes, put your heart and soul into this. But please, do something else. Try other things. Anything that you do in life is only going to broaden you and your abilities as an actor. If you wanna learn Kung Fu, learn Kung Fu. If you wanna learn a language, learn a language. These are all good skills to have as an actor. Travel, go see the world. Have a family, go have relationships. Be normal, be balanced, and be amazing. And all of these things are just gonna help you be a better version of you. And when you come in for those auditions, you'll just have more to offer. And you'll probably book those roles a lot more often.

One thing that I could give you some advice on is don't come into this industry thinking I'm only going to be a model or I'm only going to be a filmmaker or oh well that's the writer's job or I'm only going to be an actress because you should want to learn to be almost a jack of all trades in this industry because if you're going to be an actor and you want to be an actor who is a construction worker in the scene you can't just walk all prissy you actually have to learn how to walk like a construction worker to be real on set with the character but yeah it's learning learning how to do your own hair professionally learning how to do your makeup professionally

You should only be a professional actor if you can't do anything else, like if your heart won't let you do anything else. I think there's a lot of truth in that because as I've said several times, it's hard. Now go to my IMDb, look and see how many movies and TV shows I've done and I'm telling you it's still hard. It's and not just love doing jobs, not just love getting paid, but love doing it and it will make a huge difference. It will help get you through those difficult times. Again, take improv classes, take acting classes, definitely check out my improv course at improvwizards.com where you can learn improv online and study and train, but you have to love, love, love it. Love it!

I really love acting. I have a day job and I do acting on the side for now. Acting is hard. It takes a lot of time and it takes time to get noticed, but if you keep at it and work hard, really hard, you'll get noticed and you'll get a big reward. So if you want to get into acting, do it, but make sure that's what you want because it is really hard and long hours. Very long hours. There's times you could be on set for 18 hours. So yeah, it can be long hours. So make sure that's what you really want.

One other thing I find very interesting about acting is when you see a movie that's adapted from a book or a short story and you've read the book and you see it come to life, it's kind of cool. But if you get a script, as actors we read scripts, if you get a script, a screenplay based on a short story or a book, it's often nothing like it because it's a different form of writing. To read a script, it's almost impossible to get the entire story without seeing it acted out because it's just different. It's not a flowing narrative like it is in a short story or a novel. It's bits and pieces, the stage direction, the actor does this, the scene is this, there's a this and that. So the machinations of bringing a story to life from a book to a screenplay, it's just fascinating. It's fascinating to me. Both formats tell a story, they just tell it in remarkably different ways and in effective ways, obviously.
