Favorite aspects - Actor Video Transcripts

My favorite part about this industry is being on set, however long we wait, or whatever is happening, even with the hiccups, but in the middle, after the director calls action, you start to see the director, the actors, the background actors, the cinematographers, the camera crew, like, going into action, into position, and in their element, like, joining in the entire vision of the writer and the director, and it all coming into play, into life, and it's just seeing each person, each creator, each creative, in their element, and just watching it, the old become young due to the makeup artists, and the hairstylists, and the wardrobe stylists, and young become old, old become young, and the characters come to life.

By far my favorite aspect of acting is self-discovery. Every, every character has challenged me. Whether I'm wielding axes and going into a battle scene or I am playing the bad guy or the hero, they all broaden my horizons, my mindset. They challenge me, they force me out of my comfort zones. They, they allow me to see a situation or a person in a different light, from a different perspective. And that broadens me with experience and knowledge and understanding and compassion, empathy, all of that. I love that more than anything, becoming a better version of myself. On top of that, I am addicted, absolutely addicted to the energy on a film set. You develop these film families and you go into the trenches together and you're telling these stories together. You get passionate, it's just, it's infectious, it's wonderful, it's beautiful and I never want to stop doing it.

I think my favorite aspect of being an actor is just the connections that come, and that's both the connections with the other actors that you're working with, like there's nothing better than getting to share a good emotional scene with another actor who's present and who's giving you all of their attention and their energy and you guys can kind of feed off of each other, that's so great. And then connecting with the characters, like really getting to get in and live their emotional journey and experience what they've experienced, I think it brings a lot of empathy in my life, I've learned a lot from the characters that I've played. Another aspect that I love is just like the magic that comes from making movies when you get to see something and it all comes together so perfectly and it's just incredible, I love bringing those stories to life.

My favorite aspect of being an actor is getting to work with other creatives and feeding off their energy and and getting to to play with them and and see their creative side and their process pick their brains and especially if you're working with someone with a lot of experience on camera or someone who's just funny and you get to play you get a lot of it's time to kind of just like try different things with each other there's nothing more fun than that and and just experimenting because sometimes those big risks that you take those are the ones that they use in the cut and pay off the most and so it's fun it's good to play it safe and and to start safe but it's really fun when you get to work with creatives who let you really stretch and go as far as you possibly can

By far, my favorite aspect of being an actor is being with people who love what they do. There's a lot of things I love about the craft of it, the challenge and all that, and it is fun. But I absolutely adore being with people of a similar mind. We're making this product, we're engaging a project together. It's a team effort, what have you. I've said this all along, I post it all the time. Interacting with people is the best there is. Be they fellow actors or anybody on the set. I mean, they call actors talent, which is aggravating because the director of photography's talent, the people who cook for you are talent, the makeup people, the lighting, everything. Everybody in this is incredible talent. I couldn't do those jobs if you held a gun to my head and threatened me with extinction because I just can't do it. So, by far, my favorite aspect of this whole business is the other people involved in this communal endeavor.

One of my favorite aspects about working as a film and television actor is working with other great actors and really diving into the circumstances of a script and becoming that character and then on set really and truly living out the reality of the scene and having a true communication even though it's fictional. Having that true communication between actors is absolutely amazing and then of course there's those times when you're not recording when you get to know these great actors and these great people. One of my other favorite aspects is seeing the final product if I'm good in it or if I like my own performance which thankfully is much of the time but seeing that final performance and knowing it was all worth it.

My favorite aspects of acting, probably, I mean, my all-time favorite is just the variety. I mean, I'm fortunate enough to do sketch comedy, so every day, pretty much, I get to play a different character. One day, I'm Batman. The next day, you know, I'm an FBI agent. And the next day, I'm a kindergarten teacher. There's just so much variety, which is just so fun to kind of delve into these different characters. I'm self-diagnosed with ADD. I don't do a great job of, like, doing one thing for a long time, so acting just gives me that variety and that challenge that I just crave and is so meaningful to me. And every audience is different. Every night performing is different, so there's just so much change, and it's unexpected, and I just love that aspect of acting.

For me, the best part about being an actor is being able to work as an actor. To be able to do what it is that I think I'm better at than anything else that I do. I feel like it was something I was born to do, whether I was born to be great or just mediocre is irrelevant, but it's something that, you know, I've never seen myself really as anything else. Any other job or profession or career that I've pursued has been associated with being an actor and it's used the same skills and abilities that I have developed as an actor. So I just love getting the gigs. Nothing better than having your phone ring or getting an email that says, they want you, and then actually going and doing it.

My most favorite aspect is definitely just how fun it is, like just the people that you get to meet, the type of things that you get to do, like those are experiences you'll never actually have in real life, whether that's entering a fairy tale or just another person that you're never going to be or even being something that you'll never be like an animal or a man or whatever that ends up being like. I just really love being able to be immersed in everything about it and learning so many new things that I wouldn't have been able to.

My favorite aspect is the ability to be able to try on different dialects and play different characters that are not like myself and really get a chance to dive deep into the psyche of this whole other person and get to lose myself in that.

Being able to work with other people, learning the craft, every part is challenging and it's just a lot of fun. You have to work at it, yes. There are classes you can take to learn your craft and you can also learn from others. And that's what I love about this is you get to learn from other actors. Actors that have been in the business a lot longer than you have. You learn from them and it's a lot of fun.

My favorite aspect of being an actor, this is like my Moshi Goshi thing that I say all the time, but it's the fact that we have the ability to just take stress or hardship away from the audience and let them be swept away by a story. I think it's like super fun to be able to just communicate a feeling or a message or even just entertain people that are going through hard things.
