- How cliquish it is here. People are nice but it’s hard to actually be invited into a “clique”. Oh and the people who grew up here all deny these cliques. If you don’t have the right last name or aren’t bff’s with the people with the right last name, it’s impossible to get a good job. (Michelle, 7 years)

- Depends on the energy industry activity, it’s on the rise. (Dee, 7 months)
- Basic stuff, drunks driving, drugs, abuse…it’s always in the paper though. (Michelle, 7 years)
- The trailer courts are full of drug dealers, but not so much you’d notice. The real estate companies are all vying for top billing here. They haven’t played fair about it, either. (Kelly, 36 years)

How do you think Douglas will change over the next 10 years?
- Large growth in energy industry and will double in population. (Dee, 7 months)
- Hopefully it’ll grow, I’d like to see it get an actual Rec Center, since we currently don’t have one! Sorry but the school “Rec center” is not a Rec center! It’s a high school gym! (Michelle, 7 years)
- I think that growth will be inevitable. Sadly, there seems to be a concerted effort to do so at the cost of a lot of tourist venue. The raceway was closed last year and it left a hole in our summer dollars. (Kelly, 36 years)
